Philip Greenspun on Investing

I love reading this guy. Even if you completely disagree with him — hard to do — you have to love the way he writes. Here’s one great example. Worth 10 minutes of your time, surely.

Philip Greenspun on Investing.

Isaac Asimov

I’m blown away by the greatness of this short story I just read last night for the first time.

Asimov continues to impress– even years after reading his science books as a boy.

Book Blogging

Tim’s got a few buds all fired up on book blogging, and has set up a new blog to track book recommendations he makes and to test a concept of funding the blog.

He’s got a 7 star rating system for books, and a short review section. I kind of like the brevity of the entries he’s posted so far, since they read fast and I can see what Tim’s reading (or at least recommending) right now.

Some things I’d like to see:

  • graphical stars, showing rating and max (a la Netflix)
  • tags by genre and maybe author (for sorting the recommendations)
  • a voting method (where others can add their quick vote, like Amazon)

Tim asked if I’d seen some other book blogs, and I haven’t, although I love to read Literary Moose’s reviews of books.
