Indian Outsourcing

Indian outsourcing is getting alot of airtime these days, but usually only in the context of software engineering. The other day I was walking through my complex and found this other Indian export business: Indian Manhole cover. Amazing to see the City of San Diego outsourcing its manhole covers to the subcontinent.

Atomgames

My good friend Tim Kane and I started a free email-based classic games site a couple years ago called AtomGames. You need Outlook or Outlook Express to play - and it’s a manual cut and paste operation, but it’s surprisingly fun to combine a game of chess or go with an ongoing dialog.

We recently cleaned up some of the HTML code so it works better - take a look.

A great article on why passion in business matters.

Steve Jobs knows these points well - how else is it that just listening to one of his speeches compels you to buy a Mac. As he mentioned to a friend of mine at Stanford once: The main goal at Apple is to create great computers. The secondary goal is to create enough profits as a company to be able to continue doing that first goal.
