Vonage offers low cost local and national long distance calling over a broadband connection at home. A Cisco router links regular telephones with your home network to route incoming and outgoing calls through the Internet. Apparently, its well implemented and works as you’d imagine.

Plus, it’s cheap. At 9 cents a minute to Rio de Janeiro, and 7 cents a minute to Tokyo, it’s doing something right.
